Back to the grind

Well, I'm finally back at work today and it's...strange. I'm the only one in my little back room (everyone else seems to have been eaten), and at almost 11 am I'm essentially all caught up. I feel like a piano is going to drop on my head. Surely this can't be right!

Oh so very very ill

I don't seem to be doing particularly well on the health front these days. I've currently got...something, that makes me feel like I'm going to fall over every time I stand up, that my head is going to explode, and that makes my joints hurt. I tried to go to work today, since I left at about 10:30 on Friday and didn't go in yesterday, and barely made the walk in. I basically sat down at my desk for a while because I felt like I was going to fall over, and then walked back home. I think I was in the office for a total of 15 minutes tops. Go me.

Also, the 'illness' or whatever I have seems to affect my typing. I can't type anything without mispelling it, and that's just odd!

Yay!!

My youngest sister, J, got into Holy Names!

For those of you not in the know, this was the all girls Catholic high school that I went to for two and a half years. I really liked it there, and left for reasons that only a teenager (in their infinate wisdom of not really knowing what they're talking about) can come up with. I wouldn't have changed the last year and a half of high school for the world, but I think that my life would have lead in a much different direction if I'd stayed at HNA. Not necessarily better, but definitely different.

Holy Names gave me a much-needed boost of self-confidence, friends that liked me for me and that I didn't have to pretend with for the first time since my family had moved to Washington state. It was a fantastic school filled with wonderful teachers that loved what they did and really cared about how you were doing and where you were going.

I'm so happy, and really really really proud that she's going there. Good for you J!

Medical Stories

Just a quick update on my throat (because saying it over and over again makes it worse).

There is a lump in my thyroid. I have to have an operation to have it out. (The only good thing about that is that...wait, two good things. I might get to see my Mom. And, it's an excuse to play my 360 for two weeks and get paid to do so.) They are about 70% sure that it's not cancerous, but there are apparently thyroid cancers that can hide from the biopsy and they won't know for certain until they remove it and do some tests on it.

So that's what's happening. I just want to hide under my duvet all day.

Sometimes the wonder comes back

I was walking home from work the other day when a thought struck me, suddenly and with force.

I live in London. LONDON. L.O.N.D.O.N. Isn't that cool?????
